CHC20108 Certificate II in Community Services
This is a pathway qualification into community services work and may be most suited to workers who have direct contact with and support individuals in residential facilities or other community services where you report directly to a supervisor.
Some examples of the work you may do with this qualification are:
- Supporting clients to access services
- Assist people to meet their immediate needs
- Ancillary services such as catering, cleaning, laundry and gardening
The Certificate II in Community Services is a nationally accredited qualification that provides the foundation for entry into working in the Community Sector.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Duration: 12 weeks, or two training days per week, for 8 weeks.

CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care Work

The Certificate III in Aged Care is a nationally accredited qualification that provides the foundation for entry into working with and caring for the aged.
A career in providing care for the aged shows that care can be provided in a variety of environments such as the person’s home, residential aged care facilities and independent living accommodation.
Care activities can include an individual’s personal care and/or other activities of daily living such as home and garden maintenance, domestic cleaning and laundry, meal preparation, shopping, transport and attendance at appointments, and pet care.
The course is offered over 16 weeks, one day or evening per week and you will complete 10 core units of study and 4 elective units specific to your needs. There are no prerequisites for this course.

CHC40108 Certificate IV Aged Care
This course is a natural follow on from Certificate III in Aged Care providing more skills for supervision and team leader roles in Aged Care facilities.

The Certificate IV in Aged Care is a nationally accredited qualification, that addresses the knowledge and skills required by workers to provide services to the aged with complex or special care needs under the supervision of a relevant professional. Complex and special needs may include an older person who has mental health issues, dementia, a terminal illness, developmental or acquired disability or chronic health problems. There are 6 Units from the Certificate III in Aged Care that are pre-requisites for entry onto this program.
A career in providing care for the aged shows that care can be provided in a variety of environments such as the person’s home, residential aged care facilities and independent living accommodation. Care activities can include an individual’s personal care and/or other activities of daily living such as home and garden maintenance, domestic cleaning and laundry, meal preparation, shopping, transport and attendance at appointments, and pet care.
As a prerequisite to this course you must have completed specific compulsory units of Certificate III Aged Care.
Duration: 16 weeks

CHC30308 Certificate III in Home and Community Care
This course provides training and assessment for people who work in in the community under regular supervision who assist individuals with personal care and/or other activities of living. The course provides a broad base of skills and information required for a career in the Home and Community Care Sector. Training includes units on emotional and psychosocial needs, dementia care, communication and others. Elective units allow some scope for specialisation and personal choice.
The qualification addresses working in client homes and other community settings where you report directly to a supervisor. Some of the work activities in this course prepare you for maintaining personal care, assist a person with everyday living, carry out activities in relation to a person’s individual plan.
