A Great Business Decision...

One of the ways we measure our success at HLFS is by job retention rates over 6 months. We believe that this is also a great way of measuring how well we match clients to meet employers needs. Whilst not every employment placement we make works out, most do. In 2007, 86% of people we placed into employment achieved long term retention.

Across Australia Business Managers are recognising the many advantages of integrating people with a disability into their work teams. There are financial incentives which are the obvious and immediate benefit, however the rewards of employing a person with a disability in your workplace are greater than just saving on labour costs.

Absenteeism is considerably lower by workers with a disability. Surveys have proven that people with a disability have a higher than average level of job satisfaction which develops long term loyalty to their employers and creates savings in financial and human resources in areas such as interviewing and re-training.

Statistics also show that people with a disability are reliable, enthusiastic, willing and keen to learn and have a strong commitment to achieving the desired results.

Hiring a person with a disability makes good economic sense and might well be the smartest business decision you make this year.
