Mai-Wel creates and delivers vibrant, innovative services and successful businesses which provide opportunities for people with a disability to achieve their dreams and goals for life. Mai-Wel began in 1960 when a group of families met and shared their vision of an education and opportunities for life for their children with a disability. Throughout the years the tireless efforts of community groups, families and individuals have seen these humble beginnings develop into the independent organisation that exists today.
The Mai-Wel Group is a large regional provider of disability services and proudly made in the Hunter.
Head Office is located in Telarah, near Maitland. Offices are also located at Charlestown, Maitland, Cessnock and Dungog.
Mai-Wel’s three Australian Disability Enterprises (ADE’s), include PACE Setters, The Enterprise Centre and TimeSavers. Mai-Wel’s other business, Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions, assists people with a disability or disadvantage to find and keep a job. Mai-Wel offers a wide range of services for people with a disability in the areas of living options, working life, lifestyle and leisure, along with outreach services to the Lower and Upper Hunter, Maitland and Port Stephens areas.
Mai-Wel was one of the first disability organisations in Australia to gain Quality Assurance Accreditation and continues to uphold the rights of people with a disability.Mai-Wel continues to provide a dedicated and outstanding service for people with a disability and their families. Mai-Wel’s commitment to quality training and support provides a capable and well-adjusted workforce for the Hunter region.
Mai-Wel is registered to provide support to participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Mai-Wel guarantees to provide you with a service that is supported by a commitment to best practice and an outstanding history of community spirit, built on trust.
