The Mai-Wel History

The Mai-Wel Group began in 1960 when a group of families met and shared their vision of an education and opportunities for life for their children with a disability.
Throughout the years the tireless efforts of community groups, families and individuals has seen these humble beginnings develop into the independent company that exists today.

The Mai-Wel Group is the largest disability service provider in the Lower Hunter area which currently employs 101 supported employees, 127 staff members and provides services to over 500 clients.

The Mai-Wel group currently provides a wide range of services to people with a disability as well as to the wider community. These services include:

• Training Services

Mai-Wel has been accredited as a Quality Assured Organisation and continues to uphold the rights of people with a disability according to the Disability Services Standards.

Location

The Mai-Wel Group Head Office is located in Telarah. Left off the New England Highway, about 2 kilometers from the Maitland Hospital round-a-bout.
