Gerald's Update - Day Ten
After a rough boat ride from Tassie, we were woken early by the ship crew. We rolled off the boat at 6:45am and despite the rain we took off towards Bendigo.
We had a quick rest stop north of Melbourne, then continued on in more rain to Malmsbury for breakfast where it was a cold 8 degrees at 9am. We refuelled at Bridgewater where it was still cold and raining. There wasn’t much we could do except keep going!
We stopped for lunch at Kerang where I brought a pair of waterproof gloves and more socks as I was sick of cold wet hands and feet. Later we stopped at Lake Boga to pick up Tony’s camper trailer and had another rest stop where we refuelled at Ouyen.
After a hard day riding into strong headwinds we decided to stop for the night at Red Cliffs just south of Mildura. I did a service on the Honda in 11 degrees before showering, tea and bed.
It was a big day. We travelled 577 km in cold wet and windy conditions all day.
