Gerald's Update - Day Eleven
We packed up and left at 7am for another cold and overcast day. I left my socks and gloves out to dry last night but they were still damp in the morning.
About 10 km out of Red Cliffs I had a scare with a roo as it jumped across the road just in front of me. I slowed to 70 km for the next few kilometres.
Our first stop was at Merrinee for breakfast at an old silo. It was a pleasant 8 degrees. Next we were off to Renmark where we caught up with my cousin Terri and Annique. It was really great to catch up and we had a damn good omelette, thanks Annique.
Next we were off to Morgan for a quick rest then on to Burra for a pie and coffee. Not far out of Burra we struck rain and it continued until Spalding where we made another quick stop to dry out followed by a good run up the highway to Port Augusta. We arrived at 6:10pm. We refuelled, had Chinese for tea, showered and went to bed.
It was a good day. We covered 554 km.
