Gerald's Update - Day Two

Today we were up early and left Cooma at sunrise headed straight to Jindabyne for breakfast, then up to Charlotte Pass where we parked the vehicles in preparation for the 9km trek to the top of Mt Kosciuszko. The weather was cold, overcast and windy - great!

With hiking shoes on, we started walking at about 9.20am. It was pretty tough going as it got colder, windier and started to rain to top it off, but we pushed on and made it after 11.30am. At the top we couldn’t see a thing as it was like blizzard conditions. After some quick photos we took off back down the 9km track to Charlotte Pass where we arrived at 1.45pm. On the way through Perisher we stopped for a photo then finished the day at Jindabyne where we will stay for the night.

We've only covered 146km for today and we've ticked off our first extreme point - Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest point ✅
