Gerald's Update - Day Eight

We weren't as early to leave this morning as others - it was 6 degrees in Hobart when we got away at around 7.50am in morning peak hour traffic.

We stopped in at New Norfolk for a coffee then continued west in cold and overcast weather to a rest stop at Hamilton where Rod and I got stuck into a bag of lollies. We later made a quick stop for lunch at the Tarraleah Hydro Electric Station then refuelled at Derwent Bridge. At this point it had warmed to 11 degrees.

We had planned to stop at Queenstown for a coffee but it was raining so we continued on to Strahan where we found accommodation, showered, had a beer and tea at a local pub then TV and bed.

We did 314 km today day and I was glad to get off the bike after the cold wet trip from Hobart.
