Play-Wel for Mai-Wel 2017
Play-Wel for Mai-Wel raises $16,700
The Mai-Wel Group’s corporate sports day, Play-Wel for Mai-Wel, proudly presented by World Gym Maitland, was held on Thursday 15th November, 2017, at Maitland Indoor Sports Centre. The sports day made a triumphant return for its 8th annual year by raising more than $16,700 for people with a disability in the Hunter.
More than 16 teams participated in the day, consisting of 154 players from more than 36 local businesses. Players dusted off their runners to play a round robin style game of indoor cricket, soccer, volleyball and netball.
The Sporting Champion trophy was taken out in a play-off between the top two teams; Estate Planning for Life Wallys and Biz Synergy Collective. It was a hot battle on the volley ball court, with Biz Synergy Collective ultimately taking out the title of Sporting Champion!
Each team is given the task of raising a minimum $500 in order to compete in the day. On this particular occasion, two teams went above and beyond by raising a healthy $1537.10 each. Congratulations to Hunter Recruitment Group and Biz Synergy who both took out the title of Fundraising Champions. Their fundraising total was a result of a combined fundraising event held on Melbourne Cup Day.
Thank you to all of the businesses who took the time out to participate in this year’s event. A very big thank you to the naming rights sponsor World Gym Maitland and Officials sponsor Tooth N Care.
