On Friday 1st May, 2015 Gerald Frogley embarked on the journey of a lifetime, completing a solo ride on a Honda 125cc around Highway One in an attempt to enter the Australian Book of Records, while raising a total of $7,539.20 for The Mai-Wel Group.
Gerald's effort was phenomenal, setting not one but TWO Australian records!

2. The fastest time around Australia (within the road traffic act and The Australian Book of Records guidelines) riding at an average speed of 81.6 km’s per hour.
Gerald Frogley departed Hexham NSW on Friday 1st May, 2015 on his Honda CBR125 motorbike circumnavigating Australia in an anti-clockwise direction. He completed his journey on Wednesday 27th May, 2015. Inspired by his son Stephen who has Autism, Gerald proudly raised funds for The Mai-Wel Group who provide ongoing support for his son with a disability.
"My 30 year old son Stephen, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. When he left school, Stephen went on to complete a school to work transition program with Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions. During this time, Stephen participated in work experience at PACE Setters, Mai-Wel’s timber manufacturing and light engineering business. He loved every second of work experience; he helped to make pallets, crates and worked on various other production jobs", said Gerald.
"Stephen was thrilled when offered a job with PACE Setters where he has worked for the past 10 years. During this time he has been provided daily with support and encouragement to enable him to build a strong work ethic and become a valued member of his community".
Gerald was supported by his friend and support driver Tony Hughes who shadowed Gerald, ensuring he was safe at all times. We thank Tony and Gerald for their support of The Mai-Wel Group.
