Alison takes residence at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens

Just three months into 2018, and the year has  already provided some amazing opportunities for artist and Creative Arts participant, Alison.

Riding high on the successful sale of her artworks at the 2017 Sculpture in the Vineyards exhibition in Wollombi, the 20-year-old from Raymond Terrace is set to expand her portfolio a little closer to home.

Alison has recently taken up the coveted position of Artist in Residence at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens in Heatherbrae.

She is excited to draw inspiration from the gardens to expand her portfolio of nature-based sculptural works.

“It’s such a beautiful setting. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can create,” says Alison.

Alison can be found at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens every Wednesday morning alongside Mai-Wel Creative Arts Mentor, Denise.

Together, Alison and Denise are enthusiastically working towards potentially delivering a workshop based on Alison’s sculpture works in wire and natural elements.
