Local businesswomen take a swing at raising funds for people with a disability!

The inaugural Bubbles & Balls Ladies Only Golf Day & Luncheon raises more than $8,800 for The Mai-Wel Group!

Proudly presented by Lifestyle Cleaning Services, the inaugural ladies only golf day & luncheon, Bubbles & Balls, was held on Friday, 2nd September 2016 at Cypress Lakes Resort Hunter Valley and successfully raised more than $8,800 for local disability service provider, The Mai-Wel Group.

Rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the local businesswomen who enjoyed a fun-filled couple of hours on the green - many dressed up in elaborate costumes in a bid to win the prize for Best Dressed Team - before making their way to the picturesque Cypress Lakes pool marquee for the luncheon.

Guests at the Bubbles & Balls Luncheon enjoyed a gourmet ploughman’s lunch and wine generously donated by Tulloch Wines while listening to guest speakers and award winning entrepreneurs, Rene Thorpe and Justin Herald. The down-to-earth couple gave guests a personal, heart-felt and entertaining account of their journey as business owners, including the sacrifices made and lessons learnt.

Director of Lifestyle Cleaning Services, Ann Bartlett, approached The Mai-Wel Group with the concept for this fundraising event late last year and is thrilled with the results.

“Bubbles & Balls was a great opportunity for local businesswomen to enjoy a fun day out with their colleagues, clients and friends while raising funds for a good cause,” said Ann. “Guests also took home some valuable lessons from our guest speakers, Rene and Justin. Inspiration goes a long way in business and in life and they are a couple who have a gift for giving relatable, practical advice from a personal and professional perspective.”

Funds raised will be allocated to Mai-Wel Creative Arts, providing all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people in our community.
