Work placement pays off for Lydia


Lydia Evans commenced with Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions (MWLFS) with the goal of obtaining full-time employment and increasing her independence.Lydia was referred to MWLFS as she suffered from anxiety.


MWLFS were able to assist Lydia with completing a Certificate III in Business Administration with MCO Training.After successfully completing the course, Lydia started work placement with The Mai-Wel Group at The Hub, Maitland.

“Over the duration of my course I was able to expanmy capabilities and knowledge. After completing the Certificate III, MWLFS suggested that I should undertake work placement to increase my chances of employment and to upskill”, said Lydia.

Work placement allowed Lydia to put her newly learnt skills in business administration to practise. The team atThe Hub loved Lydia’s enthusiasm and her commitment tothe role, as well as her professionalism and friendliness tothe participants.Lydia was successful in applying for a Customer Service Officer position at The Hub when it became available.

“Being employed has not only given me financial independence, but I’m now contributing to the community and making a difference in people’s lives”, said Lydia.

“I love my job! I’m so lucky to have this opportunity and to be able to work with The Mai-Wel Group.”
