An important message from our CEO...
"Dear Supporters and Friends,
As some of you may already know, earlier this week I notified the Mai-Wel Board of Directors of my intention to resign from the company at the end of 2018, to pursue personal interests.
I know this announcement may come as a surprise to some of you and I apologise that I have not had the opportunity to tell you all in person.
I have taken my time to consider my position and the ultimate decision to resign from the position of CEO is not one I have taken easily or lightly. I know however that is the right decision.
Mai-Wel is a fabulous organisation, one that I have been proud to lead for the past 18 years. It is a ‘place’ I will leave in good hands; the Board of Directors, General Manager’s, Leadership Team, Staff and Volunteers are focused and so passionate about the services they lead or provide.
We have a band of wonderful Supporters, Customers and Sponsors who take ownership and deliver ongoing support in many and various ways.
In relation to our participants, jobseekers and residents; I have absolutely no doubt that the aspirations of those we assist/support, the individuals’ desire to achieve, coupled with the passion of those who support them, will ensure Mai-Wel’s success and longevity into the future.
Rest assured, it is ‘business as usual’ between now and the end of 2018 and I will continue to work in the CEO’s role to enhance opportunity and choice to the people with a disability and young jobseekers with whom we work.
Recruitment of a new CEO is being managed by the Board of Directors, led by Chairman Graham Burns.
I look forward to the next four months of working with Mai-Wel and I know I will see you all somewhere in our beautiful City of Maitland or across the Hunter, soon or in the near future.
