2018 Mai-Wel Gala Ball raises over $23,000
The Mai-Wel Group is thrilled to announce $23,183 was raised in support of youth and disadvantaged jobseekers in the Hunter at the 8th Annual Gala Ball held on Saturday, 28th April, 2018, proudly presented by Imagine Now I.T.
With a record number of more than 305 attendees, guests were delighted by Mai-Wel’s transformation of Maitland Town Hall into an enchanted forest, complete with gold tiffany chairs, ceiling and tables draped in greenery and fairy lights sparkling as talented local ballerinas performed an opening dance dressed as woodland fairies.
In between dining on a gourmet, three course meal and dancing the night away, guests bid on auction items, purchased raffle tickets and took home a selection of lucky draw prizes, all in support of raising funds for Mai-Wel’s latest initiative, the Thrive Farm Project.
“Funds raised from this year’s Gala Ball will assist the realisation of our new, exciting and innovative Thrive Farm Project. It will assist the purchase of resources and equipment that will be used to provide specialised training and skills development opportunities for our jobseekers in the areas of farming and horticulture,” said Mai-Wel’s CEO, Pennie Kearney.
“We would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support in making this a sold out event within just two weeks of tickets going on sale, and thank the many generous local businesses who supported the event through sponsorship and donations.”
Over the past seven years, the Gala Ball has raised more than $150,000 for people with a disability and jobseekers in the Hunter region.
The Mai-Wel Group wishes to thank and acknowledge the following event sponsors; Imagine Now I.T., Starr Partners, Signature Clothing, Hunter Signs, Capral Aluminium, The Maitland Mercury, Newcastle Herald, NBN, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Tooheys, Lovey’s Grocers, Blue Star Catering, A1 Audio and Lighting, Lumina Visual, Australia Dance and Talent Centre and Mobilistic DJs.
