From Amateurs to A-League; players dust off sports shoes all in the name of charity!
With more than 221 A-League football games under his belt, Matthew Thompson will make his debut appearance at Play-Wel for Mai-Wel, the Hunter’s only charity indoor sports day proudly presented by In Properties for Investors.
Matthew currently plays for Maitland FC in the National Premier League and is co-owner of Football IQ, a coaching business for aspiring football players. Matthew is passionate about football and youth development and together with Andre Gumprecht has created a hub to share knowledge and experience with other players.
Matthew will be joining with other local businesses for a fun day at Maitland Indoor Sports Centre, all in the name of charity.
“I am really looking forward to meeting new people and playing sport, which I just love. I’m excited about being involved in such a fantastic charity event”, said Matthew.
The day will see 16 teams consisting of 140 players from more than 40 Hunter businesses represented. Teams will compete in indoor netball, soccer, cricket and an exciting new addition for 2015… dodgeball!
Prizes will be awarded on the day for Champion Sporting Team, Champion Fundraising Team and Champion Individual Fundraiser.
The proceeds from Play-Wel for Mai-Wel 2015 will be allocated to the Creative Arts Program to provide all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people with a disability or disadvantage in our local community.
