Mai-Wel’s Gala Ball returns in 2017 with a whole new world!

Following on from the success of the Gala Ball in 2016, The Mai-Wel Group is excited to return with another evening of fun and glamour, presented by local business Imagine Now I.T. and all in the name of charity. 


Created from the need to raise funds for infrastructure and celebrate the organisation’s 50th anniversary, Mai-Wel’s Gala Ball has become a hallmark event on Maitland’s social calendar and will return for the seventh year in 2017.

The highly anticipated event attracts more than 250 guests from across the Hunter and beyond to proudly raise funds for people with a disability or those experiencing disadvantage.The secret theme for this year promises to see Maitland Town Hall transformed, transcending guests to a shining, shimmering and exotic place.

Chris Burgess, Managing Director of local business Imagine Now I.T. is pleased to be returning as event sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, this time as naming rights sponsor.

“I have been a supporter and an admirer of the wonderful work Mai-Wel does for many years now. As a local business owner and a father of a child with Asperger’s I feel very privileged to be the naming rights sponsor of the Mai-Wel Gala Ball”, said Mr Burgess.

“It is an amazing night for an amazing cause and I challenge all locals to get on board for an enjoyable evening to help raise funding for people in our community with a disability”.To be held on Saturday 29th April, 2017, at Maitland Town Hall, tickets to the black tie event are $150 each, and include; canapes and a three-course meal, all beer, wine and soft drinks, premium auction items, prizes and fantastic live entertainment... plus a few surprises along the way!

The proceeds from the Gala Ball will be allocated to supporting youth and disadvantaged job seekers by offering prevocational training opportunities.  Funds will be used to fit-out a project space, assisting with job seeker skill development and increasing employment opportunities for young people in the Hunter. Tickets are now on sale for the Gala Ball and can be purchased online here or by phoning the Mai-Wel Events Team on (02) 4932 8599.
