$30K raised at Mai-Wel’s Annual Gala Ball
Mai-Wel brings the Night Circus to town for their 6th Annual Gala Ball, proudly presented by Gecko Security
On Saturday 30th April, Mai-Wel welcomed more than 300 guests to the 6th Annual Gala Ball held at the newly renovated Maitland Town Hall. In one night alone, more than $30,000 was raised for Mai-Wel’s Creative Arts service. With a greater number of guests and fundraising activities at the event, funds raised were up 70% from last year’s Gala Ball.
Greeted by fire breathing contortionists and stilt walking wonders, guests were wined, dined and entertained as the Maitland Town Hall was transformed into a Night Circus with a spread of fundraising activities for guests to participate in.
Mai-Wel CEO, Pennie Kearney, attended the event and was overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.
“It was a fantastic night! We couldn’t have achieved such a huge result without the generosity and hard work from our Communications & Events Team, our fabulous volunteers and our giving sponsors. It was terrific to see all of the guests having such a great time and all for such an important cause. I would like to extend my thanks to everybody who contributed in making the 6th Annual Gala Ball such an extraordinary evening,” said Ms Kearney.
The funds raised will be allocated to Creative Arts at Mai-Wel to provide all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people with a disability or disadvantage in our local community.
Tickets for Mai-Wel’s Annual Raffle are still available to purchase at www.maiwel.com.au or any Beyond Bank branch in the Hunter region. First prize includes a once-in-a-lifetime Scenic all-inclusive luxury 11 day Beautiful Bordeaux river cruise for two people, including return flights from Sydney - valued at $21,000!
The Mai-Wel Group wishes to thank and acknowledge our event sponsors; Gecko Security, Imagine Now I.T., Tony Cant Real Estate, Heritage Motor Group, The Sign Shop and Soper Smash Repairs together with the many local businesses who supported the event by providing in kind sponsorship and donations.
