Mai-Wel earns $460.50 from drink container refunds

The Mai-Wel Group is excited to have earned $460.50 from empty drink container donations collected at three local TOMRA Reverse Vending Machines.

4,605 drink containers, earning 10c each, were donated to Mai-Wel via the machines at Aberglasslyn Woolworths, BP Thornton and Cessnock Big W.

Mai-Wel CEO, Lynne Graham, said it was wonderful to see the community support via the machines.

“The funds raised will go a long way in support of our special sensory garden and rooms project for participants with complex and high support needs at our leisure and lifestyle centre, The Hill,” says Lynne.

“The project is the focus of our major fundraising events in 2019, including the Gala Ball and Comedy Debate.”

Mai-Wel’s Annual Gala Ball in April raised $17,400 for the project and the fundraising tally is expected to grow with the Celebrity Comedy Debate on 10th August.
