The Mai-Wel Group is excited to announce that users of the TOMRAReverse Vending Machines (RVM) at Aberglasslyn Woolworths, Cessnock Big W and BPThornton can donate their eligible empty drink containers directly to Mai-Wel until 24th February 2019.

The popular RVMs that offer the Return and Earn cash refund of 10 cents per uncrushed and empty drink container, provides the opportunity for users to donate their refund to the charity of their choice.

“We are very grateful for the opportunity to collect donations from the popular machines,” says Mai-Wel CEO, Lynne Graham.

“Funds raised from these RVMs and our major events and campaigns in 2019 will be allocated to the development of a dedicated sensory room and garden at our lifestyle and leisure facility, The Hill on John Street in Telarah.

“The project will see some exciting additions to the already outstanding facilities, specifically for participants with complex or high support needs.

“Over the next two months we hope the community will do their bit to support us and the environment, by collecting empty drink containers for recycling at any of these three machines. With a plethora of Christmas and New Year gatherings and celebrations happening around this time of year, we are confident that drink containers won’t be hard to find.”

Most drink containers made of glass, plastic, aluminium, steel or liquid paperboard (cartons) between 150ml and three litres are eligible for the refund. Each must be in good condition, unbroken or crushed, empty and have all labels intact. DONATING IS EASY!  When you have finished loading all of your containers into the machine, simply click ‘Donate’ and select The Mai-Wel Group at the bottom of the screen!  If your donation is more than $2.00, you will be issued with a tax deductible receipt!
