Supported employees contribution recognised

28-Sep-2018

Above: Congratulations to the fourteen supported employees who were recognised for exceptional years of service with Mai-Wel.

On Thursday, 27th September, the amazing achievements of fourteen of Mai-Wel’s supported employees was recognised at Mai-Wel’s annual Supported Employee Anniversary Awards Presentation.

Mai-Wel CEO, Pennie Kearney, says the annual Presentation is an important way to recognise the significant impact that Mai-Wel’s supported employees have on the organisation and community.

“The Supported Employees Service Anniversary Awards Presentation has always been a highlight of the year for me,” says Pennie.

“Shortly I will retire from Mai-Wel and on reflection I realise that the recipients of these awards are those who were here when I first joined Mai-Wel. Not only did they make me feel very welcome but they taught me so much. They showed me the strength and resilience of people with a disability and about the exceptional work ethic they hold.

“Most importantly they taught me about the ability of people with a disability, about true commitment too and the value they place in their jobs.

“I am delighted to celebrate these great achievements. Supported employees who work with us really are the backbone of Mai-Wel. These men and women have kept the wheels of Mai-Wel turning over so many years and for that I say thank you.”
