Mai-Wel Celebrity Comedy Debate raises $20,000!
The topic for 2015, ‘Youth is Wasted on the Young’ was debated by celebrities Cal Wilson, Lex Marinos and some home grown talent. After compelling arguments presented by both teams, the audience decided that youth IS wasted on the young!
“We are proud to be able to bring a quality, entertaining and fun night to the Hunter region for the 11th year running. The generosity of local businesses and members of our community has ensured the ongoing success of this event year after year”, said Pennie Kearney, CEO of The Mai-Wel Group.
“Their commitment and willingness to be a ‘partner’ in Mai-Wel’s vision of new areas of opportunity and choice for people with a disability in this area is exceptional”.
“The funds raised will provide a huge boost to Mai-Wel’s Creative Arts Program, which provides all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people with a disability or disadvantage in our local community”.
Since its inception, The Mai-Wel Celebrity Comedy Debate has become a hot ticket on the Hunter’s social calendar and is one of three major fundraising events held annually by The Mai-Wel Group. Mai-Wel extends a warm thank you to our major sponsor DFK Crosbie and to all of the sponsors, supporters, staff, volunteers and guests who attended the night.
