Art lovers Welcomed to the Jungle with Mai-Wel Creative Arts
Champions of inclusion, Mai-Wel Creative Arts, is set to showcase a collection of collaborative works in the new ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ exhibition, from 1st to 18th August at The Hunter Artisan Gallery and Café, East Maitland.
Artworks included in the exhibition are collaborative explorations of cultural appropriation, abstract symbolism, colour, texture and play inspired by the jungle.
Whether it’s Blossom, Princess Rita or Elwood looking at you mischievously from the depths of the jungle’s canopy, or the undergrowth inviting you to swing on in and immerse yourself in the world that has been created, this exhibition celebrates creativity and a wild discovery of nature.
Mai-Wel Creative Arts work with supported artists with and without a disability to foster impactful collaborations and provide opportunities to publicly showcase the breadth of talented artists that access the service.
“It’s inspirations to see the creative energy and level of collaboration in the Creative Arts studio that has gone towards realising this exhibition,” says Steve Burchill, Creative Arts Facilitator.
“The vibrant atmosphere of artists working together in the studio, each bringing their individual ideas, makes my role as Creative Arts Mentor a joy,” says Mai-Wel Creative Arts’ Denise Duffy.
All artworks are for sale and proceeds go to resourcing the Mai-Wel Creative Arts studios at The Hub Maitland and The Hub Cessnock.
