The Club Crusaders 'Play-Wel' and raise so much more!
The Club Crusaders have emerged victorious, taking out the Play-Wel for Mai-Wel Corporate Sports Challenge in 2011.
The team from Club Financial Services brought their A-game to the competition, notching up a win in each of the four round robin matches across the day, hitting last year's defending champs, The Carpet Lawyers, for six.
The 2011 Play-Wel for Mai-Wel Corporate Sports Challenge awarded a series of winning teams who deserved the 'champions' trophy due to their remarkable fundraising initiatives, on and off the field - they are:

The art of fundraising became a competitive game all on its own, with over $8,000 raised by 10.30am. On final count, Play-Wel for Mai-Wel raised a phenomenal amount of over $23,000 which will see the development and implementation of future programs piloted by The Mai-Wel Group.
"For the second consecutive year, the Hunter and Maitland business community have embraced this event with open arms, and open hearts, helping us make an extraordinary contribution to our programs and services at Mai-Wel," said Mai-Wel CEO, Pennie Kearney.
"The event, in its infancy, is growing in size and popularity with every year. We are already talking of exciting ways to attract larger team numbers for 2012 and I sincerely thank those in the community who have supported us in 2011," she said.
Play-Wel's mix of corporate teams took every advantage throughout the day to secure more funds, right up until the last minute; however, the fundraising efforts by Chris Jessup were nothing short of extraordinary.
Chris, and Janine Harris from Club Financial Services (founder of the event), went head to head in a defiant battle on the courts, but it was Chris who flexed his corporate muscle, revealing his 'lucky skirt' as his match day attire in an attempt to add some spice and hilarity to the pitch.
Go With The Flo Air-Conditioning auctioned off the skirt at the presentation ceremony, which fetched the winning team another $500 for the fundraising.
The Express Bandits have already thrown down the gauntlet with a challenge to raise over $10,000 as a team for 2012.
