School's Out is an initiative of The Mai-Wel Group's Lifestyle & Leisure service area, aimed at providing local school students (from 10 to 14 years of age) the opportunity to engage in afternoon social activities that promote social skills, life skills and provides an opportunity to meet new people in a safe, fun environment.
Although School's Out is predominantly a social opportunity. the sessions can be tailored as an avenue for students to come together to develop life and learning skills.
The activities provide a fun and informal opportunity to develop skills such as money handling, cooking, catching public transport and getting along with others to name but a few. There will also be opportunity to access some assistance to complete homework and develop numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
School’s Out runs each Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm.
